Not just another reissue of classic African Music, Synchro Series is literally the Birth of the World Music movement, featuring two vintage King Sunny Ade albums on one CD that were originally released in Nigeria, and are now available for the first time ever in the U.S. on IndigeDisc.

Already a major star in his home country of Nigeria during the 1970s, Ade was signed by Island Records in 1982 as heir apparent to Bob Marley. He was launched with major label fanfare to critical acclaim. Just prior to this success, Ade released the first of the two albums featured here, Gbe Kini Ohun De, in Nigeria. Following extensive international touring in '83, Ade returned home and released Synchro Series, the second album included on the disc. Combining his highly refined juju style and "state of the art" studio techniques picked up in Europe, the recording represents an artistic turning point for Sunny Ade and the dawn of the World Beat era.

Digitally re-mastered from the original tapes, Synchro Series contains lush juju soundscapes, experimental dub vocals, haunting steel guitar and Ade's signature grooves driven by the irresistible rhythm section of the original African Beats.
